Peadar Ó Riada’s epic new work ONÓIR, a special commission by Gael Linn as part of the 1916 commemoration, tells of how Ireland's multi-layered identity evolved over time, conjuring up the primal consciousness of the Irish.
This excellent new recording features acclaimed traditional group Téada, piper Mick O'Brien, harpist Oisín Morrison, and choirs Cór Chúil Aodha and Cór Ban Chúil Aodha.
Using an array of artists, both instrumental and choral, the work encompasses the mythology of Ireland, its monastic tradition and the major historical events which have shaped us as a nation.
