Following his lauded UK and Ireland tour, debut album WHAT WAS THE QUESTION and the hikii-produced mixtape Beauty In The Beast, Irish rapper Curtisy returns with GET A LIFE, a new collaborative album with producer owin that signals a sharp turn forward for one of Ireland’s most distinctive voices. What began as a smaller idea quickly snowballed into something more expansive — a project shaped by opposition, contrast, and contradiction. Even the physical record reflects it: two vinyl covers, front and back, light and dark, mirroring an album built around duality.

There’s a clear sense of creative development running throughout the album. Working closely with owin, Curtisy unlocks new sonic pathways, with tracks often fractured into dual movements, blurring boundaries between swampy hip-hop, drill, soul, and alternative dream-pop. It’s a restless, shape-shifting record, yet one that remains firmly rooted in Curtisy’s own world. His familiar MIKE- and Earl Sweatshirt-adjacent introspection remains intact, sharpened into some of the strongest work of his career, but now he wields a bow with even more strings.

Tallaght based rapper Curtisy is quickly solidifying his position as one of the leaders of a new wave in Irish hip hop alongside his collaborators Ahmed, with Love, Rory Sweeney, hikii and more. With inspirations including the likes of Wiki and Earl Sweatshirt, he has carved a niche for himself as an expropriator of vibrant and lush abstract hip hop, with live shows carrying a DIY punk charisma and energy.
